- ICW Ladies Champion
- Competed in WarZone’s first Ladies Main Event
When Amy Dumas announced retirement from the wrestling world in September 2006, many thought this would be the end of her career but in January 2007 Amy, better known to fans as Lita signed a contract to the new and upcoming promotion, International Championship Wrestling become the first Lady to do so in the company’s history. Shortly after, Lita competed in the first ever Ladies Match within ICW, defeating Candice Michelle in a Lumberjill Match that would not only cement both Ladies within ICW History, but spark the heated rivalry between Lita and Victoria that would soon come to fruition. The crowd soon warmed to Lita once more as her bitter rivalry with Victoria continued, the two Ladies doing whatever it took to take the other out of the picture. In late January it was announced that due to the sheer size and competition of the Ladies Roster, a newly instated Ladies Championship would soon be up for grabs, Lita herself being an integral part of the title’s interception into the company through her hard work and dedication.
In only her second match within ICW Lita teamed up against Candice Michelle whom she only defeated the week previous to successfully take down their attackers of Victoria and Jillian Hall but in the week proceeding on the 27th January, Lita would suffer her first loss and so far most deflating defeat when Victoria pinned her to eliminate Lita from Contention in the ‘No Return Battle Royale’ to crown the new and more importantly first Ladies Champion. Lita was forced to watch on from the sidelines as her rival Victoria become victorious at ‘No Return’ to make history and become the first Ladies Champion of the company but Lita would not allow her victory celebrations to last long, coming out soon after Victoria had won the match to announce that a match had been sanctioned between the duo for the Ladies Title at ICW’s second only Pay-Per-View ‘Defiance’, but that wasn’t all. As announced by Lita herself, their match would be a Hardcore Match, an ICW first for the Ladies! Both Lita and Victoria battled back and forther until their collision at Defiance when Lita was able to do the impossible with a little help from friend Trish Stratus to help defeat Victoria after only her second title defence become the new and second only Ladies Champion. Not wasting any time in cementing herself as a fighting champion, Lita announced before a Three Way ‘Loser Is Fired’ Match (pitting Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson and Trinity against each other), that not only would the loser indeed be fired, but that the winner would become the No1 Contender to her newly won championship. Lita watched on as the underdog Torrie Wilson began a path that many have regarded her wrestling legacy as herself and Lita drew battle for the title. Tag matches and mixed matches soon followed, Lita each time gaining the edge over her contender but that all changed when on ICW’s third only Pay-Per-View ‘No Remorse’. Torrie Wilson was able to do what many thought was impossible for her to do and defeat Lita for the Ladies Championship.
Lita was distraught at losing the Ladies Championship and on the broadcast of WarZone directly proceeding ‘No Remorse’, Lita was pit against the new Ladies Champion Torrie Wilson in a re-match of history making proportions as they became the first Ladies in the history of International Championship Wrestling to fight in a Main Event! Both women gave it their all but yet again Lita fell prey to Torrie Wilson and was unsuccessful in taking back her title. Lita did have a plus side however, as after shortly winning the Ladies Championship a strong friendship had bloomed between herself and Alex Shelley. The duo would often be seen together at various ICW Tensures and even competed along side each other to defeat Torrie Wilson and Paul London on the 7th April broadcast of WarZone. Lita and Alex’s relationship continued to blossom throughout the spring months until Lita suffered what could have been a major setback in a match against Mickie James in the 12th May edition of WarZone, narrowly missing breaking her neck yet again after missing a Suicide Dive to the outside. Lita would miss over a two month’s worth of ring time but was able to attend ICW’s fourth Pay-Per-View ‘Mayhem’ on the 26th May to witness and help her beau Alex Shelley capture the ICW Transatlantic Championship! Lita continued to make sporadic appearances for ICW until she returned to the 16th June broadcast, first managing Alex Shelley and his partner Shawn Michaels to defeat in a Tag Team Match. Earlier in the night however Lita appeared as the special guest on Rene Dupree’s ‘Café De Rene’ to not only explain her injury and absence, but to set the record straight about her future, despite Dupree’s constant tauntings. When it looked like Lita had had enough however, ICW Lady Gail Kim interrupted proceedings and proceeded to taunt Lita until the fiery Lady see’s red and attacks Gail! Both women engaged in a fierce brawl inside the ring which eventually is broken up by Eric Bischoff who then proceed to give Lita a vendetta; she must face none other than Rene Dupree in a match! And if she loses, she will be out of the ‘Road To Stardom’ Gauntlet match to crown a new Ladies Champion from the vacant championship. Striding into the 23rd June broadcast full of confidence, Lita was able to shockingly beat Rene Dupree must to the pleasure of the crowd and her lover Alex Shelley to secure her place inside the Gauntlet Match for the championship. But this was not the end of Lita’s surprises for the night however, as Alex Shelley proceeded to make his way into the ring and get down on one knee, proposing to Lita! Lita gladly accepted and the two lovers embraced inside the middle of the ring much to the delight of the crowd. Still living on cloud nine, Lita walked into ‘Road To Stardom’ as confident as she had been in previous weeks but unfortunately was unable to pick up the victory and was eliminated during the match by her new rival, Gail Kim. Proceeding the match on the 14th July broadcast of WarZone, Lita would face off against newly crowned two-time Ladies Champion Torrie Wilson in a singles match, and again was unable to pick up victory against the seemingly unstoppable Lady but this did not sit with Lita, who took an indefinite hiatus from her career in ICW.
Luckily for fans however, Lita would return to International Championship Wrestling in mid-November much to the shock of her peers backstage, many of whom thought Lita was done and dusted with the company. Teaming with Kristal Marshall in her return match against Jillian Hall and Milena Roucka, Lita was unsuccessful in her return match but boldly showed everyone watching and everyone backstage that she was back, and better than ever. Following her match and throughout the coming weeks, Lita was persistently called and attacked by an unknown attacker who on occasion carelessly left clues that lead to their identity, but not before Lita notched up several high profile wins including teaming with Kevin Nash and Alex Shelley to take down Torrie Wilson and the World’s Greatest Tag Team aswell as defeating Angel Williams in the first ever Blindfold Match within ICW, cementing Lita once again in history through partaking in a match never yet witnessed in the company. On the 12th January broadcast after suffering a loss to ‘Asian Sensation’ Gail Kim, Lita encountered ShowDown Lady Trinity backstage and the two shared company for a moment before Trinity rushed off, but dropped a vital piece of evidence that infuriated Lita, finally uncovering who her attack over the past couple of months really was! In the week following, Lita stormed to the ring in attempts to confront Trinity about her treachery but instead, Trinity taunted Lita from the ICWTron and begged her to come backstage and Lita never one to back down from a fight, took it to Trinity but was ambushed by the devious Lady who then proceeded to attack Lita once more. More chaos insued on the following broadcast of WarZone in a saga fuelled between Mickie James and Trish Stratus, eventually concludeding in the team of Trinity, Melina and Trish Stratus disposing of Lita, Mickie James and Gail Kim from the ring after Eric Bischoff failed to humiliate Mickie in front of her hometown fans. It was then announced by the man himself that Lita would join Mickie James and Gail Kim in taking on the team of Trinity, Melina Perez and Trish Stratus at ‘When World’s Collide’ in a WarZone vs ShowDown Ladies Tag Team Match! The WarZone Ladies were then able to get a measure of revenge on the devious ShowDown Ladies at the Pay-Per-View when Lita was able to crash down onto Melina Perez with her Moonsault to pick up the victory for her team and earn herself her first victory of 2008.
This battle however would not put out the fire that had been rising between Lita and Trinity as the two Ladies continues to battle, Lita again managing to take down Trinity in on the 2nd February broadcast of WarZone where she again appeared the Main Event, this time teaming with Rob Van Dam to defeat Trinity and World Champion Carlito. Trinity attempted yet again to taunt Lita the following week but got a slap in return for her gestures as the two Ladies nearly fought to death until being restrained by members of staff and on the next edition of ShowDown in spite of Lita’s actions the weeks previous, Trinity was able to cost the duo a tag team loss to Stephanie McMahon and Torrie Wilson. In a surprising break form her bloody feud with Trinity, Lita encountered long time friend Jeff Hardy backstage who later had a match against Brother Matt Hardy. After much talking, Lita opted herself to be the Special Guest Referee in the match which would see Team Xtreme reunited, regardless of the situation! Soon after the bell had rung and Lita lifted Matt Hardy’s hand in victory, the trio celebrated in Team Xtreme style but were yet again foiled when Lita’s rival, Trinity came to the ring in order to beat her down, but Trinity’s plans backfired when The Hardy Boyz came to Lita’s aid and helped her secure a hard Twist of Fate to her rival, followed up by the LitaSault! Trinity was visibly enraged by her plan backfiring and backstage announced that she would face Lita on the following WarZone in a Last Woman Standing Match to settle the score!
And so on the 1st of March, Trinity and Lita collided inside the ring in what many would now call a classic ICW Ladies match where again Lita made history in partaking in the first ever Last Woman Standing Match, but sadly was not able to pick up the victory as Trinity was able to hit her ‘Fall from Grace’ on Lita to pick up victory after Lita failed to respond to the 10 count and as irony would call it, this was indeed Lita’s fall from grace as the match marked her final active appearance in an ICW ring. Although this was seemingly the end of Lita’s ICW and possibly active wrestling career, she returned to the promotion for one night only at ‘When World’s Collide’ on 15th February 2009, surprising Matt and Jeff Hardy in showing her support for their upcoming Heavyweight and World Heavyweight Championship Opportunities, but weren’t the only people Lita would encounter. Whilst walking backstage, Lita bumped into long time friend and rival and former General Manager of WarZone, Trish Stratus! Both women exchanged words and it wasn’t long before the talking descended into an argument, Trish eventually calling security on Lita who motioned that it would not be the last Trish has seen of her, possibly leaving an open return for Lita to come back to International Championship Wrestling to settle for the score but for now, Lita remain in the history of ICW as just that, the history making Lady! Having competed in several first’s in ICW aswell as being the first Lady of ICW, Lita accomplished many more career dreams during her tensure within ICW and one thing is for sure…she is a Lady to never be forgotten within International Championship Wrestling
